Deploying the patch package
- In the Depot folder, right-click the newly created package and select Deploy.
- On the General panel, enter information about the new Deploy Job in the Name and Description fields. Select an appropriate destination folder. Click Next.
- On the Software panel, verify that the Custom Software package appears in the Install software section. Click Next.
- On the Targets panel, select one or more servers or server groups that should receive the patch. Click Next.
- On the Default Notifications panel, configure default settings for the Deploy Job runs.
Default notifications are used if no other notifications are associated with the job schedule. - Click Next.
- On the Phases and Schedules panel:
- Select the phases. For the Commit stage:
- If the target servers are in a remote data center where a repeater is configured, select Stage indirect (using repeaters).
- Otherwise, select Stage direct.
- Select the appropriate execution option:
- To run the job immediately, select Execute job now.
- To create the job now but run it at a later time, select Do not execute.
- To schedule the job to run at a specific time, select Execute selected phases sequentially starting at. Browse
to set up a job schedule and notifications.
- Select the phases. For the Commit stage:
- Click Next.
- On the Job Options panel, select your desired Logging level and Reboot Options setting.
- Click Next several times until the Properties page appears.
- On the Properties page, click Finish.
The wizard creates the Deploy Job and executes it if you selected the Execute Now option on the previous Phases and Schedules panel.
