VM Basic Config - Linux
The VM Basic Config panel for Linux operating systems lets you specify the guest OS basic configuration information host name and domain registration-related information for VMware, Citrix XenServer, and Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization platforms.
This panel appears only if the Virtual Guest Package is based on a Linux template.
Fields for Linux operating systems
Under Computer Settings, specify the following:
- Under Host name, enter the host name for the new VM. Host names can be any combination of alphanumeric characters and can include hyphens (-). However, special characters are not allowed. The host name field is a required field.
- Under Domain, you can optionally add the new VM to a specific domain.
