Adding a custom configuration object
A standard installation of TrueSight Server Automation provides a wide range of server and configuration objects for many operating systems. In addition, you can add custom configuration objects to the Configuration Object Dictionary to present information and perform functions not available out-of-the-box.
To add a custom configuration object
- Obtain a ZIP file for the custom configuation object you want to add.
- Select Configuration > Config Object Dictionary View. The Configuration Object Dictionary opens.
- Click Add Configuration Object
. The New Configuration Object wizard opens.
- On the General panel, select Server Object, if it is not already selected, and click Next.
- On the Server Object Definition panel, click the browse button and navigate to the ZIP file that you obtained in step 1.
- Click Next.
The Permissions panel appears. The Permissions panel is an access control list granting roles access to this server object. Access to all objects, including the sharing of objects between roles, is controlled through access control lists (ACLs). - On the Permissions panel, define an ACL for the server object. For more information, see Defining-permissions-for-a-system-object.
- Click Finish to close the wizard and save the new server object.
- Distribute the new server object to managed servers where you want to use it. See Creating-or-modifying-Distribute-Configuration-Objects-Jobs.
