Reprovisioning from a device

You can reprovision servers directly from a device by executing the Provision Job associated with the device.

You might use this reprovisioning method to provision the same devices using a different system package.

To reprovision from a device

1. In the Devices folder, open the Provisioned folder and select a device.
2. Right-click and select either Re-Provision Now or Re-Provision Later from the pop-up menu.
   • If you click Re-Provision Now > OS_type, the provisioning wizard starts and you can create a new job that executes automatically on the same devices as before.
      When the Provision Job starts, the provisioning process does the following:
     • Automatically decommissions the server, if the server is part of your TrueSight Server Automation environment. In some situations this can take a few moments.
     • Changes the status of the device to Imported. (It is moved from the Provisioned folder to the Imported folder.)
        In addition, the job appears in the Tasks in Progress view, where you can view its status or cancel it.
   • If you click Re-Provision Later, the device is automatically decommissioned and appears as a device in the imported state. (It is moved from the Provisioned folder to the Imported folder.) However, the Provision Job does not execute automatically.
      To execute the Provision Job, open the Imported folder and right-click the server. Then select Provision from the drop-down menu.
