Creating a folder or group

You can create a folder or group. When creating a folder or group, you can nest a folder within a folder or a group within a group.

After you create a folder or group, you can modify its properties. For more information, see Setting-values-for-system-object-properties.

To create a folder or group

1. Do one of the following:

   • Right-click any of the following folders or any subfolder or subgroup

     • Component Templates
     • Components
     • Depot
     • Devices
     • Jobs
     • Servers

     To add a new folder, select New > objectType Folder from the pop-up menu. In this menu option, objectType is the type of object for which you are creating a folder, including Component Templates, Jobs, or Depot objects.
     To add a new group, select New > objectType Group from the pop-up menu. In this menu option, objectType is the type of object for which you are creating a group, such as a server or component.

   • Choose File > New > Other to open the New window. Enter a phrase in the filter text box to narrow the search list or expand the General or BMC trees to browse to the component folder or group type you want to create.
     A wizard appears.
2. Provide information for the folder or group wizard, as described in the following sections:
   
   1. New Folder/Group - General
   2. New Folder/Group - Permissions
3. Click Finish.
   The new folder or group is created.
