Check for announcements that might affect future releases of the product. These changes can affect the way in which you configure or run the installed version of TrueSight Server Automation.

Deprecated features and components

Deprecated features are still available in the product or service. However, they are no longer under active development and might be discontinued from the product in the future. We encourage you to plan and implement the recommended change.

Vendor Patch Content (VPC) for CentOS 

6.x

VPC for CentOS is deprecated in version 23.1. 

We recommend you use CentOS versions 7.x and 8.x because these versions provide native support for patching.

Cached Filter Refresh in Live Reporting

23.1

The Cached Filter Refresh option is deprecated in version 23.1. 

We recommend you use the Access Filter option. For more information, see Installing-and-configuring-Live-reporting

Process spawner

23.1

Support for the process spawner is deprecated in version 22.2 and it remains deprecated in version 23.1.

Starting with version 23.1, the process spawner service is disabled on a new Application Server. However, you can manually enable and start it. For more information, see Configuring-the-process-spawner.

TrueSight Server Automation Security

23.1

The FolderPermissions property is deprecated inTrueSight Server Automation 23.1. Use the Umask property to control permissions of the Transactions directory. For more information, see Configuring-bldeploy-behavior

Support for following cipher suites for the components that use web services for communication, is deprecated in version 23.1.

  • TLS_RSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA
  • SSL_RSA_WITH_3DES_EDE_CBC_SHA

We recommend that you use the following newly supported cipher suites instead, which offer stronger security.

  • TLS_ECDHE_ECDSA_WITH_AES_256_GCM_SHA384
  • TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_256_GCM_SHA384
  • TLS_ECDHE_ECDSA_WITH_AES_128_GCM_SHA256
  • TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_128_GCM_SHA256
  • TLS_ECDHE_ECDSA_WITH_CHACHA20_POLY1305_SHA256
  • TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_CHACHA20_POLY1305_SHA256
  • TLS_DHE_RSA_WITH_AES_128_GCM_SHA256
  • TLS_DHE_RSA_WITH_AES_256_GCM_SHA384

TrueSight Server Automation TEXT columns in the SQL Server tables

23.1

Support for TEXT columns in the following SQL Server tables is dropped in version 23.1 of TrueSight Server Automation. The data type of these columns is now changed to VARCHAR(MAX) from TEXT to avoid any future impact because Microsoft has deprecated support for the TEXT data type support for SQL Server.
