Add Device - Add Device



The Add Device panel lets you specify the MAC address of the new device, the provisioning technology you plan to use for the device, an image file (for PXE provisioning), and values for properties associated with the device.


Field definitions

MAC Address

Enter the MAC address of the device that you are adding. The acceptable formats for a MAC address are:

xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
xx xx xx xx xx xx

Description

Optionally provide descriptive text about this device.

(PXE only) Boot Image File

Choose the image file you want to use for this device.

Architecture

Choose the architecture of the device that you are adding; the values are x86 or x64.

Provisioning Method

Select the provisioning technology you plan to use for this device — PXE, JumpStart, x86 JumpStart, NIM, Ignite PA-RISC, or Ignite Itanium.
(If you are provisioning a Solaris SPARC machine, choose JumpStart. If you are provisioning a Solaris x86 machine, choose x86 JumpStart.)

Properties

Set values for properties for this device.
Different provisioning environments let you edit different default property values for a device, as shown in #Property values for provisioning environments.
