Running an SCAP Compliance Job

You can run a Job immediately or schedule it to execute in the future.

You must have SCAPContentFile and XccdfBenchmark permissions to create an SCAP Compliance Job and execute it. For information, see Establishing role-based permissions for SCAP.

To run or rerun an SCAP Compliance Job

  1. Use any of the following methods to run a Job:
    • To allow the job to run as scheduled on the Schedules panel in the job, you do not need to do anything.
    • To run the job immediately, right-click the job name in the Jobs folder, and then select Execute.
    • To run the job immediately against a different set of target servers from the set defined in the saved job, right-click the job name in the Jobs folder, and then select Execute Against. This command lets you choose the target servers for a one-time run, and it does not change the targets specified in the saved job.
When a job is actively running, a line for it appears in the Tasks in Progress view.
  2. To monitor job progress as it executes, watch the Activity column in the Tasks in Progress view.
When the job disappears from the Tasks in Progress view, it is finished running.
