Creating Deploy Jobs for Puppet agent bundle
This topic provides instructions on how to create Deploy Jobs to install the Puppet Agent bundle.
To install the Puppet Agent bundle on the target
- Log on to the Console.
- From the Actions menu, select Puppet > Create Agent Bundle.
The Select Puppet Agent Installable Source dialog box opens. - Follow the procedure in Select-Installable-Source-dialog-box to select the Puppet Agent installable file.
- In the Create Puppet Agent Bundle dialog box, enter the Puppet Agent version number.
- Select the Ruby installable file by clicking
near the Ruby Installable source field. Follow the procedure in Select-Installable-Source-dialog-box to select the Ruby installable file from the Select Ruby Installable Source dialog box.
- Similarly, select the Facter installable file by clicking
near the Facter Installable source field. Follow the procedure in Select-Installable-Source-dialog-box to select the Facter installable file from the Select Facter Installable Source dialog box.
- Select or enter the architecture, name, and version number of the target OS on which you want to deploy the Puppet modules.
- To add the dependent files that are required by the Puppet module after it is deployed on the target, click
. Follow the procedure in Select-Installable-Source-dialog-box to select the dependent files from the Select Installable Source dialog box.
- Click Finish.
TrueSight Server Automation creates Deploy Jobs for installing the Puppet Agent and the dependent files on the target. You can find the Deploy Jobs under the Jobs folder as shown in the following figure: Execute the Job against the target to install the Agent bundle on it. See Executing-a-job-against-specific-targets for more information.
