Tip

BMC Education Services provide Foundation courses covering the topics discussed in the walkthroughs available in this section. The education classes discuss when and why to make use of various features as well as the “how-to”. If you are interested in looking deeper into these topics, we recommend that you check out the Server Automation education offerings at TrueSight Server Automation Training.

Topic

What is it about?

Provides some background and rationale for using TrueSight Server Automation to manage the configuration of your IT environment.

Walks you through the process of design changes to server configurations and then deploy those changes simultaneously to multiple servers. In this example, you use TrueSight Server Automation to perform a common administrative task: changing the root password for Linux servers.

Walks you through the process of packaging a simple application and then created and executed a Deploy Job to deploy that application to a server..

Walks you through the process of using TrueSight Server Automation to perform post-provisioning activities for both 'bare-metal' and virtual systems. This topic describes how to associate post-install activities with a System Package (for bare-metal provisioning) or a Virtual Guest Package (a VGP, for VM provisioning).

Walks you through the process of installing the required software dependencies for a LAMP stack using a patch catalog and a Patching Job. (A LAMP stack refers to a collection of software applications, typically Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP.) This topic describes how to provision a LAMP stack using patch catalogs.
