Installing the HP-UX Patch Downloader
In an environment where access to the Internet is restricted to one server, patch binaries and metadata are downloaded to a predefined repository before analysis begins. To download patches from the vendor site, you must first download and install one of the following utilities:
- HP-UX Patch Downloader, a Java-based tool
- SWA External Downloader
Installation starts from the patchanalysis.zip file, which was extracted during installation of Vendor Patch Content and placed in a directory on the TrueSight Server Automation Application Server.
Before you begin
Ensure that the host computer on which you install the HP-UX Patch Downloader or the SWA External Downloader also has Java version 1.5 or later installed.
To install the HP-UX Patch Downloader
- Locate the patchanalysis.zip file and extract the contents to a location on a server with internet access.
The HPOakland_Downloader.zip file is placed in the SupportFiles directory (/patchanalysis/SupportFiles). - Extract the contents of the HPOakland_Downloader.zip file to a directory on the TrueSight Server Automation Application Server.
The following files are placed in the directory:- HPUXContentDownloader.bat: The HP-UX Patch Downloader for Windows.
- HPUXContentDownloader.sh: The HP-UX Patch Downloader for UNIX or Linux.
- configuration.properties: A configuration file that specifies parameter values.
- A ReadMe.txt file with basic information about the HP-UX Patch Downloader
- A lib directory containing the HPUX_Downloader.jar file.
You are now ready to run the downloader and download patches. For more information, see the following pages:

The SWA_External_HPDownloader.zip file is placed in the SupportFiles directory (/patchanalysis/SupportFiles). - Extract the contents of the SWA_External_HPDownloader.zip file to a directory on the TrueSight Server Automation Application Server.
The following files are placed in the directory:- downloader.pl: a Perl wrapper for the Oakland Downloader

- swa.conf: A sample configuration file, which simulates the /etc/opt/swa/swa.conf configuration file in which you perform the actual configuration
