Locating open objects in the Folders view

For any system object that you have open and displayed on a tab in the content editor area of the TrueSight Server Automation Console (on the right), you can quickly locate the same object on the object tree in the Folders view (on the left).

To locate open objects

  1. After opening any number of system objects (in any of the folders described in Folders-view-and-resource-management, click the Locate in tree locatetree.png toggle button to the right of the Folders tab.
  2. In the content editor, click the tab that displays the open object that you want to locate in the object tree.

The relevant nodes in the object tree are expanded to display the hierarchical location of the selected object in the Folders view.

    Note

To locate the object in the tree, the tab that you click must originate from the tree (excluding, for example, a Dependencies tab) and must have been opened through the Folders view. Furthermore, the object must be accessible in the tree without the need for paging.

  3. Repeat step 2 for any other object that you want to locate.
  4. If you want to stop locating objects in the object tree, click the Locate in tree locatetree.png toggle button again.
