Adding files to a BLPackage
When editing a BLPackage, you can add files to the package.
Alternatively, you can add files to a package by importing assets. See Importing-assets-into-a-BLPackage.
To add files to a BLPackage
- In the BLPackage hierarchy, select the top node or select an existing directory.
- Right-click and select Add > File.
The Select file window opens. - In the Select file window, use the Servers node to navigate to the file or files you want to add. Select one or more files.
- To copy the contents of the files into the BLPackage, select Copy file contents. If you do not select this option, you add only file metadata to the package, such as a file's creation date and permissions.
- If you want to include Windows ACL information for the files, select Collect access control list (ACL) attributes.
This option only applies to files on a Windows system. Selecting this option has no effect on files that reside on other operating systems. - Click OK.
The files are added to the BLPackage and stored in the file server.
If you add a file to the top node of the BLPackage, the file retains the path of the file you selected to add. When the BLPackage is deployed, the file is deployed to that path. If you add a file to any directory in the BLPackage, the file does not retain its original path. Instead, the file is added as a child of the selected directory. When the BLPackage is deployed, the file is deployed as a child of the selected directory.
After adding a file, you can optionally take any of the following actions:- Reorder — Select the file, right-click, and select reordering options.
- Delete — Select the file, right-click, and select Delete.
- Cut and paste — Select the file, right-click, and select Cut. After cutting it, you can select another node, right-click, and select Paste.
