Installing components silently

In a silent installation, you run the installation program from a command line. A silent installation enables you to install in a headless environment on UNIX and Windows, or to install on multiple systems at the same time. 

The following table lists the tasks that you need to perform in a silent installation.

Install TrueSight Server Automation on Windows

Note: You can choose to install individual TrueSight Server Automation components on Windows either interactively or in the silent mode. For instructions on interactive installation, see Installing-components-on-Microsoft-Windows.

Complete the following tasks in the stated sequence to install TrueSight Server Automation on Windows:

  1. Install an RSCD agent:
  2. (Optional, Interactive installation) Install RSCD agents in a replicated domain controller environment
  3. Use silent mode to install the Network Shell (Windows)
  4. Use silent mode to install the Application Server
  5. (Interactive installation) Install the PXE server on Windows
  6. Use silent mode to install the TrueSight Server Automation Console (Windows)

Install TrueSight Server Automation on Linux and UNIX

Required

Note: You can choose to install individual TrueSight Server Automation components on Linux and UNIX either interactively or in the silent mode. For instructions on interactive installation, see Installing-components-on-Linux-and-UNIX.

Complete the following tasks in the stated sequence to install TrueSight Server Automation on Linux and UNIX:

  1. Install TrueSight Server Automation components (Application Server, RSCD agent, Network Shell, PXE server, and TFTP server):
  2. (To install an RSCD agent individually) Use silent mode to install an RSCD agent (Linux and UNIX)
  3. (Optional) Install an RSCD agent on a virtual UNIX server. See Setting-up-TrueSight-Server-Automation-for-virtual-environments.
  4. (To install the Network Shell individually) Use silent mode to install the Network Shell (Linux and UNIX)
  5. (To install the TrueSight Server Automation Console individually) Use silent mode to install the TrueSight Server Automation Console (Linux and UNIX)
  6. (To install the PXE server individually) Install only the PXE server on Linux or UNIX
  7. (Optional) Configure installation settings for Linux and UNIX
