Generating a user information file

Use this procedure to generate a user information file, which caches your TrueSight Server Automation user ID and password. This file can be used as a keytab file for authentication, and is especially useful when running unattended automation scripts that make use of Network Shell proxy services or make calls to the BLCLI.

  1. From <installDirectory>/bin, run the command bl_gen_blcli_user_info.
The utility prompts you to create a file name.
  2. Name the file as user_info.dat.
  3. When prompted, enter your TrueSight Server Automation user name (such as BLAdmin) and password.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
