Viewing vCenter server properties

After adding a vCenter server to TrueSight Server Automation, you can view the server properties of a VM or ESX host on that vCenter server. Using the Parent Host, Parent Datacenter, and Parent Cluster properties, you can determine the location of virtual machines and ESX hosts in the vCenter hierarchy.

To view vCenter server properties

1. In the Servers folder, navigate to a vCenter server and expand the Live node.
2. Expand the VMware vCenter Server object type.
3. Browse to a virtual machine or ESX host.
4. In the content editor, review the Server Properties for the virtual machine or ESX host by scrolling to the right.

   This macro generates standalone content. As a consequence you need to make sure to use a syntax that separates your macro from the content before and after it so that it's on a line by itself. For example in XWiki Syntax 2.0+ this means having 2 newline characters (a.k.a line breaks) separating your macro from the content before and after it.
