Commenting out and uncommenting a compliance rule

You can comment out or uncomment a compliance rule. Commenting out a compliance rule temporarily removes it from a component template. Uncommenting the compliance rule removes the comment and allows the compliance rule to be included in the component template definition.

When you comment out a rule, TrueSight Server Automation does not validate the rule when you save the rule in the Compliance Rule Editor or when you save the component template. When you run a Compliance Job, the job does not evaluate a compliance rule that is commented out, nor does the rule appear in any Compliance Job results.

To comment out or uncomment a compliance rule

1. On the content editor, click the Compliance tab.
2. Navigate to the compliance rule or rules you want to comment or uncomment.

3. Select one or more compliance rules.

   Use Ctrl+Click or Shift+Click to select more than one compliance rule.

4. Right-click the selected compliance rule or rules, and select Comment Out or Uncomment from the pop-up menu.
