UCS Template - Boot Order tab

The Boot Order tab enables you to specify the elements to boot and the order.

Use the arrow keys to move elements from the Bootable Elements panel into the Boot Order panel.
The boot order elements are divided into the following groups:

  • LAN NIC - You can set up to two LAN NICs in this group.
  • Storage - You can set up to two SAN HBAs + Local disk. Local disk always appears after all the SAN HBAs in the boot order. Both primary and secondary targets are used for a SAN HBA if they are configured.

    Note

Adding both a SAN HBA and a local disk in the boot order is not a recommended configuration. It can result in a config-failure state for the profile. For more information, refer to Cisco documentation.

  • Virtual media - Floppy drive.
  • Virtual media - CD-ROM.

You can move the groups up or down as a whole. You can also reorder the SAN HBAs and LAN NICs among themselves.

Note

At least one LAN NIC must exist in the boot order panel. The first LAN NIC in the boot order panel is used for PXE provisioning.
