Downloading the installation files

This topic explains how to obtain the installation files for TrueSight Server Automation Remedy OnDemand Integration.

  1. Go to http://www.bmc.com/available/epd.html and download the TSSA<version>-Optional.zip files for the latest version of TrueSight Server Automation (for example, TSSA89-SP4-Optional.zip). For information about how to download TrueSight Server Automation files from EPD, see Downloading-the-installation-files.
  2. After you unzip the download, 
    1. Select the TrueSight Server Automation Remedy OnDemand Integration TSSARODIntegration<version>-<platform>.bin or .exe file for the required platform (for example, TSSARODIntegration89-SP4-P1-Linux.bin and TSSARODIntegration89-SP4-P1-Windows.exe).
    2. Select ROD-PostInstall.zip for all platforms. This zip file contains extensions.zip and AI-Jobs-ForRemedy9104.zip. These files are needed during post-installation configuration of TrueSight Server Automation Remedy OnDemand Integration.

Installing TrueSight Server Automation and Remedy OnDemand integration

This section provides information about installing the product on Microsoft Windows and Linux operating system.

To install TrueSight Server Automation Remedy OnDemand Integration on Microsoft Windows

  1. Navigate to the directory where you downloaded the installer for TrueSight Server Automation Remedy OnDemand Integration.
  2. Run the downloaded executable file (TSSARODIntegration<version>-<platform>.bin or .exe) depending on your database type.
  3. Select a language and click OK.
  4. On the Welcome page, click Next.
  5. On the License Agreement page, select I agree to the terms of the License Agreement, and click Next.
  6. On the Installation Mode page, select one of the following installation modes:
    • Typical Installation (Recommended) – Installs TrueSight Server Automation Remedy OnDemand Integration and places the integration utilities in the installation folder.
    • Utilities Only – Places the integration utilities and installation files in the installation directory but does not perform any installation.
  7. Click Next.
  8. On the Directory Selection page, accept the default installation directory, or click Browse to select another directory. Click Next.
  9. On the Database Type page, select the type of database (Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server) being used by BMC Decision Support for Server Automation, and click Next.

    Note

    This page and the following pages refer to the BMC Decision Support for Server Automation database, not the TrueSight Server Automation database.

  10. Use one of the following step, depending on your database type:

    For an SQL Server database, in the BMC Decision Support for Server Automation Database Details page, specify values for the following parameters:

    For an Oracle Server database, in the BMC Decision Support for Server Automation Database Details page, specify values for the following parameters:

  11. Click Next.
  12. In the TrueSight Server Automation Application Server Details page, specify values for the following parameters:


  13. Click Next.
  14. In the BMC Decision Support for Server Automation page, specify values for the following parameter so that you can launch the reports portal from the BMC BladeLogic Atrium CMDB CI Relationship Viewer:

  15. Click Next.
  16. In the Categorization Practice page, select one of the following options:
    • Default Categorization
    • Best Practice Categorization

      Note

      Select the type of categorization that is consistent with the discovery providers that are populating data into the BMC Atrium CMDB.

  17. Click Next.
  18. On the Installation Preview page, review your installation choices.
  19. Click Install.
    A series of on-screen messages are displayed as the installation proceeds. Installation might take 20 minutes or longer.
    At the end of installation, a dialog box indicates whether installation was successful or issues occurred and displays the location of the log file.
  20. Click OK.
  21. Click Done.

To install TrueSight Server Automation Remedy OnDemand Integration on Linux

  1. Log on to the computer as root.

    Note

    Do not use sudo or any other user account.

  2. Navigate to the directory containing the installation files.
  3. Run the installation script for TrueSight Server Automation Remedy OnDemand Integration.

Uninstalling TrueSight Server Automation and Remedy OnDemand integration

This topic provides information about uninstalling TrueSight Server Automation Remedy OnDemand Integration

Uninstalling TrueSight Server Automation Remedy OnDemand Integration on Microsoft Windows

  1. Navigate to the directory in which TrueSight Server Automation Remedy OnDemand Integration is installed. 
  2. Open the UninstallBMCBL2Atrium directory.
  3. Double-click uninstall.exe.
  4. In the Uninstall TrueSight Server Automation Integration page, click Next.
  5. Select the CMDB that you would like to uninstall and click Next.
  6. In the BMC Decision Support for Server Automation Database Information page, select Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle Server, and then click Next. 
  7. For an SQL Server database, in the BMC Decision Support for Server Automation Database Information page, specify values for the following parameters:

    For an Oracle Server database, in the BMC Decision Support for Server Automation Database Information page, specify values for the following parameters:

  8. In the TrueSight Server Automation Details page, specify values for the following parameters:


  9. Click Next.
  10. Specify the required value.
  11. Click Uninstall.
  12. In the TrueSight Server Automation Remedy OnDemand Integration uninstallation completed successfully page, click Done.

Uninstalling TrueSight Server Automation Remedy OnDemand Integration on Linux

  1. Log on as root.

    Note

    Do not use sudo or any other user account.

  2. Navigate to the directory in which TrueSight Server Automation Remedy OnDemand Integration is installed. 
  3. Execute the uninstallation script:

  4. Use the information from Step 4 to Step 12 of Uninstalling TrueSight Server Automation Remedy OnDemand Integration on Microsoft Windows.
