Paging through multiple objects

Several options exist for paging through multiple objects.

When working with groups, smart groups, folders, search groups, database assets, custom objects, and server objects in the Configuration Object Dictionary, a large number of objects can make viewing and manipulating the objects cumbersome.

To make working with large numbers of objects manageable, the objects are presented in groups of 50 through which you can page.

Note

You can modify the number of items displayed per page by selecting Window > Preferences. Expand BMC and Paging Options to change the default. You must choose File > Refresh after changing the default to have the change take effect.

The corresponding Properties view tells you the page number you are on, the number of items per page, the quantity of items in total, and the quantity of pages in total. With custom configuration objects, the number of assets may be unknown. In that case, the Properties view cannot identify the page or item numbers.

To page through objects

Do one of the following:

  • Double-click the up (Previous) and down (Next) arrows to scroll through the objects.
  • Right-click an arrow and select one of the following: Next Page, Previous Page, First Page, Last Page, Jump to Page

    Note

When the number of custom object or database assets are unknown, no page count appears and the Jump to Page and Last Page options are not available.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
