Patch Vendor Site Access

If the TrueSight Server Automation Patching functionality is used, then outbound internet access is required from the system initiating the download, as indicated below for online catalogs, or the system running the offline patch downloader for offline catalogs, depending on which method is used.

Note

As of July 2017, RedHat is removing the XML-RPC interface to their download site and all downloads will require use of their CDN and the reposync tool. Prior to that date, RHEL version 6 and earlier are available via both the CDN and XML-RPC interface. RHEL 7 is only available via the CDN interface. TrueSight Server Automation 8.9 already supports using the CDN for all RedHat versions in online catalogs and the offline downloader. For other supported TrueSight Server Automation versions, BMC will supply an update to allow this functionality.
