Reviewing minimum requirements for Red Hat environments
BMC Server Automation supports both Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization platforms, Red Hat KVM and Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager for Servers (RHEV Manager).

Red Hat KVM requirements
You must have the following installed on a Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.4 (or later) server:
- Virtualization packages
- The latest version of libvirt (version 0.6.3 or later)
- One or more domains running on the server
- The BMC Server Automation RSCD agent for Red Hat Enterprise Linux
Red Hat KVM access and privileges
For a Red Hat KVM environment, you must have root access to the Red Hat KVM host server.
RHEV Manager requirements
To employ BMC Server Automation in a RHEV Manager server virtual environment, you must configure the RHEV Manager server (running RHEL version 6.2 with RHEV3.0 installed) to act as a target server.
RHEV Manager access and privileges
For a RHEV environment, you must have root access to the RHEV Manager server.
