Setting multiple components as exceptions to compliance rules


Use this procedure to excuse multiple components from compliance rules for a component template.

For more information about compliance exceptions and when you would want to define them, see About-compliance-exceptions.

To set multiple components as compliance exceptions

  1. Display the Set Components Exception wizard by doing any of the following:
    • In the Jobs folder, right-click a Compliance Job and select Show Results. Then expand a run of the Compliance Job, and, using the Rules View or Servers Viewnodes, navigate to a node that has multiple components associated with it. Then, do one of the following:
      • Right-click, and select Set Exception from the pop-up menu.
      • Select multiple components in the content editor, right-click, and select Exceptions from the pop-up menu.
    • In the Component Templates folder, navigate to a component template that has multiple components associated with it. Select Window > Show View > Group Explorer. In the Group Explorer view, select multiple components. Right-click and select Exceptions from the pop-up menu.
    • In the Components folder, navigate to a group that has multiple components associated with it. Select Window > Show View > Group Explorer. In the Child Explorer view, select multiple components. Right-click and select Exceptions from the pop-up menu.

  3. Click Finish after completing the last step of the wizard.
    The components that you specified are excused from the selected compliance rules.
