Snapshot and Audit Jobs and discovered software

You can base the following types of BMC Server Automation jobs on the software applications discovered through the integration of BMC Atrium Discovery and Dependency Mapping:

  • Snapshot Jobs enable you to record the software configuration of your servers at a point in time.
  • Audit Jobs enable you to determine if the software configuration for your servers complies with a standard configuration.

To begin creating a Snapshot Job or an Audit Job based on discovered software, right-click the Discovered Software node (or, depending on the level of detail that you want to capture in the job, one of the other nodes described in Displayed information for software applications), and select Snapshot or Audit.
