Importing a list of devices

You import a device to register it with the BMC Server Automation system. You can import multiple devices at the same time by importing a file that contains a list of MAC addresses. Optionally, the file can include configuration values for the devices.

Before you begin

(Required) Create a MAC address import file. See Preparing-to-import-a-list-of-devices.

To import a list of devices

  1. Right-click the Devices folder and select Import. A wizard starts.

  2. Specify information about the import file, as described in the following sections:

  3. Click Finish.
    You can view the imported devices in the Imported folder under the Devices folder.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
