Starting and stopping the PXE server


Configuration settings take effect when you stop and restart the PXE server.

Before you begin

If the PXE server and the DHCP server are on the same machine, before starting the PXE server you should first stop the DHCP server. Restart the DHCP server after you start the PXE server.

To start the PXE server

Perform the step appropriate for your operating system type.

  • Microsoft Windows:
    1. The PXE server is a Windows service, so choose Start > Settings > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services.
    2. Right-click BladeLogic PXE Server and select Start.
  • Linux: Type the command: /etc/init.d/blpxe start

To stop the PXE server

Perform the step appropriate for your operating system type.

  • Microsoft Windows:
    1. The PXE server is a Windows service, so choose Start > Settings > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services
    2. Right-click BladeLogic PXE Server and select Stop.
  • Linux: Type the command: /etc/init.d/blpxe stop
