Changing passwords

If you use the secure remote password (SRP) authentication method, you can change your SRP password while running the BMC Server Automation Console.

If you attempt to log on using an expired SRP password, the Change Password dialog box box appears. Use the dialog box box to provide a new password, as described below.

You can also use the RBAC Manager folder to change passwords.

SRP is the default authentication mechanism for BMC Server Automation.

To change passwords

  1. Select Configuration > Change SRP Password.
The Change Password dialog box appears.
  2. In Old Password, enter your current password.
  3. In New Password, enter a new password.
  4. In Retype New Password, confirm the new password by typing it again.
  5. Click OK.
    The password is changed.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
