Ordering software within a BLPackage by dependency

Using the BLPackage editor, you can order software packages according to their dependencies.

For example, if you are deploying a package called Patch_A, and it depends on another package called Patch_B, the BLPackage should process Patch_B before Patch_A.

To specify a dependency for a software package, use the software package's DEPENDENCY_LIST property to specify other software packages already stored in the Depot on which the package is dependent.

To order software by dependency

  1. In the hierarchy view, select the BLPackage or any software package included in the BLPackage.
  2. Right-click and select Order by Dependencies from the pop-up menu.
    All software packages in the BLPackage are ordered according to their dependencies.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
