Adding payloads to custom configuration objects
When editing a BLPackage that includes a custom configuration object that is designed to accept payloads, you can designate the contents of files that should be added as payloads to the custom configuration object. This capability allows you to add information to agentless managed objects, which are managed as custom configuration objects.
For payloads, you can add the contents of any type of file, including binary files.
To add payloads to custom configuration objects
- In the BLPackage hierarchy, navigate to a custom configuration object. Select any node in the hierarchy of the custom configuration object.
- Right-click and select Add > File.
The Select file window opens. - Navigate to the file or files with content you want to add to the custom configuration object. Select one or more files.
- Click OK.
The file content is added to the BLPackage and stored in the file server. The new payloads appear as one or more nodes under the node you selected in the first step. Note that the paths to new payloads are the paths that the custom configuration object uses to access payload information. Do not change these paths in an attempt to install this content to a different location.
After adding payload information, you can optionally take any of the following actions:- Reorder — Select the payload, right-click, and select reordering options.
- Delete — Select the payload, right-click, and select Delete.
- Cut and paste — Select the payload, right-click, and select Cut. After cutting it, you can select another node in the custom configuration object, right-click, and select Paste.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
