Using silent mode to upgrade components on Linux or UNIX

You can perform an unattended (silent) upgrade of various BMC Server Automation components on a UNIX system, including the Application Server, Network Shell, and RSCD Agent. To use silent mode for an upgrade, you run the installation program for the version to which you want to upgrade.

Note

Prior to running the installer, ensure that you are not using a /tmp/nsh-install-defaults file for the upgrade.

To run the installer, enter a command such as the following:
sh BBSA<version>-<platform> -silent
 For example:
sh BBSA83-SOL10-SPARC.sh -silent

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
