Designating a BMC Server Automation UCS Manager server
You must choose one of your servers as the BMC Server Automation UCS Manager server and install the RSCD agent on it. You must then add the designated BMC Server Automation UCS Manager server to the BMC Server Automation Console as a managed server.
To designate a server
- Choose a server to be the BMC Server Automation UCS Manager server.
The server must be running one of the following operating systems:- Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition (x86/x64)
- Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition (x86/x64)
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3.x (x86)
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.x (x86/x64/IA64)
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.x (x86/x64/IA64)
- Install the BMC Server Automation RSCD agent on the server, as described in Performing-the-installation.
To add the designated server to the console
- In the Servers folder, select a server group to hold the new server or create a new one.
To create a new server group:- Right-click the Servers folder and select New > Server Group.
- Name the Server Group and click Finish.
- Right-click the server group and select Add Server.
