BMC BladeLogic Server Configuration Discovery setup
You can integrate BMC BladeLogic Server Configuration Discovery with BMC Server Automation system. It enable the discovery and management of third-party software applications in collaboration with BMC Atrium Discovery and Dependency Mapping.
Before you begin
Before you set up BMC BladeLogic Server Configuration Discovery, verify that the following product requirements are met:
- BMC BladeLogic Server Configuration Discovery provides add-on content for the client tier of a BMC Server Automation system. To introduce this content, you must already have BMC Server Automation version 8.1 or later installed.
- BMC BladeLogic Server Configuration Discovery obtains information about the installed third-party software applications through an integration with BMC Atrium Discovery and Dependency Mapping. Ensure that you have BMC Atrium Discovery and Dependency Mapping version 8.3.3 or 9.0 installed, and that BMC Atrium Discovery and Dependency Mapping is configured to gather information from the relevant servers.
- All servers from which BMC Atrium Discovery and Dependency Mapping gathers information are added to the BMC Server Automation system using their short names. At this time, BMC BladeLogic Server Configuration Discovery does not support servers identified using IP addresses or fully qualified names. For example, add a server to the system using a name like server1 rather than a fully qualified name such as server1.prod.mycompany.com.
