Configuring expiration time for credentials of jobs

Use this procedure to set a timeout value for the session credentials that are passed to jobs. After the credentials expire, all active client connections are closed. The NshScriptJobCredentialTimeout setting is a global setting that applies to all jobs.

  1. Start the Application Server Administration console, as described in Starting the Application Server Administration console.
  2. To set a timeout value for the job session credentials, enter the following:
    set ProcessSpawner NshScriptJobCredentialTimeout #
where # is the number of hours (minimum of 24). The default setting is 96 hours.
For information about the process spawner, see Configuring the process spawner.
  3. Restart the Application Server.

    Warning

    Note

If a job exceeds the timeout value in the NshScriptJobCredentialTimeout setting, an error message is written to the Application Server log and the job log.
