Exporting compliance results

You can export the results of a Compliance Job using the following report formats:

  • XCCDF
  • ARF version 0.41
  • ASR version 0.41

Before you begin

Before exporting the results of a Compliance Job to ARF or ASR formats, you must enable the following BMC Server Automation Application Server Administration console (the blasadmin utility) settings (the settings are disabled by default).

To view the default value of the blasadmin utility property, execute the following command:

show Appserver EnableARFAndASRExecution

To enable the blasadmin utility property, execute the following command:

set Appserver EnableARFAndASRExecution true

To export compliance results

  1. Access the results of a Compliance Job.
  2. From the results tree displayed in the left pane, select the branch (any branch under a specific Job run) of the results you want to export.
  3. Right-click and select Export Compliance Results.
The Export Results dialog box is displayed.
  4. For Object Name, provide a file name and location where you want to store the exported results.
  5. For Object Type, select one of the following file formats:
    • Print-friendly version (HTML format) — Saves results in an HTML format so they can be printed or viewed in a web browser. Use this option for easy viewing of exported results.
    • Analysis version (CSV format) — Saves results in a comma-separated value format so they can be imported into databases or spreadsheets. If you import the resulting CSV file into a spreadsheet, you must adjust column widths and set line wrapping to make the spreadsheet easily readable.
    • ARF 0.41 — Saves results in ARF version 0.41 format.
The Options button is enabled when there are multiple targets associated with the job. For the Split files checkbox:
      1. To export results for each server to a separate file, select the Split files checkbox. If the Split files checkbox is selected, the exported file names are in this format: <yourFileNameValue_serverName>
      2. To export results for all servers into the same file, clear the checkbox. If the Split files checkbox is cleared, the exported file name is in this format: <yourFileNameValue>
    • ASR 0.41 — Saves results in ASR version 0.41 format.
The Options button is always enabled. By default, the ruleID parameter in the ASR report is mapped to Reference Number. You can map the ruleID parameter to AUTO_GENERATE, NAME, DESCRIPTION, or NOTES. If you select AUTO_GENERATE, the ruleID value assumes the following format: <<Component Template Name>>/<<Group Name>>/<<Rule Name>>.
  6. From File encoding, select the type of character encoding for the exported data, such as UTF8 or UTF16.
  7. On the Export Results dialog box, click Save.
