Potential upgrade issue when upgrading from version 8.1, 8.1 SP1, or 8.1 SP2
If you are upgrading to version 8.2 or 8.2 SP1 from a version 8.1, 8.1 SP1, or 8.1 SP2 environment, contact BMC Customer Support prior to upgrading. You may require an SQL script to be executed prior to performing data migration. Customer Support will provide you with a diagnostic SQL script (VGPCustomConfig_diagnostic.sql) to verify if the additional 8.2 pre-migration script is required.
To contact Customer Support, see the Customer Support website at http://www.bmc.com/support. If you do not have access to the web and you are in the United States or Canada, contact Customer Support at 800 537 1813. Outside the United States or Canada, contact your local BMC office or agent.
Upgrade to version 8.2 disables PropertySync
In BMC Server Automation version 8.2, the PropertySync feature has been deprecated. During migration of the database to version 8.2, the Data Migration Manager disables PropertySync and the migration results table displays the migration warning: PropertySync has been changed from true to false. The PropertySync feature has been deprecated as of 8.2. Please contact Support for further assistance.
Upgrade to version 8.2 deprecates the Provision provisionDevice BLCLI command
Earlier releases supported the Provision:provisionDevice command. This command has been deprecated. BMC recommends that you use the ProvisionJob:createProvisionJob command instead.
Upgrade to version 8.2 causes Citrix XenServer Provision Jobs to fail
After an upgrade to BMC Server Automation version 8.2, existing Citrix XenServer Provision Jobs fail (QM001706976). Failed jobs display the error message:
Workaround: Open the Provision Job in the content editor. On the Server Settings panel, browse the Server Properties option to select or create a valid agentless managed object (AMO). For more information, see Creating-and-modifying-Provision-Jobs.
