Using PATROL Configuration Manager for configuration
In addition to BMC PATROL Developer console, you can use BMC PATROL Configuration Manager to perform various configuration tasks in BMC PATROL for BMC Server Automation such as:
- Manage pconfig variables and Rulesets. For more information, see Configuring-using-the-PATROL-Agent-Configuration-variables.
- Manage parameters. For more information, see Managing-parameters-using-PATROL-Configuration-Manager.
Before using PATROL Configuration Manager to change the configuration of a Knowledge Module, BMC recommends that you ensure that PATROL Configuration Manager is set up to save or back up the configuration.
To enable backups in PATROL Configuration Manager
- From the main menu, select File > Configure > Application.
- In the Configure: Application dialog box, select the Archives tab to open the Backup Settings.
- Ensure that the Save Backup Before Apply option is selected.
- Click OK to save the settings.
