Portal Database tab

The Portal Database tab enables you to configure the following parameters for the Cognos portal database:

Description

Host Name

Host name or IP address of the Cognos portal database server

Port

Port number on which the Cognos portal database server listens

SID (Oracle) or Database Name (SQL Server)

Service ID or name for the Cognos portal database

User Name

Cognos portal database user name

Password

Password for the Cognos portal database user

Note: Using any of these special characters in the password will cause the Cognos configuration to fail, requiring you to reconfigure the database schema.

Confirm Password

Same password for confirming the Cognos portal database user

Warning

In case of SQL Server if databases are created on Named Instance, you should provide the Hostname and valid Port number of named instance instead of <Hostname/NamedInstance> in the Host Name field.
