Setting database passwords

You can use the Configure Password link in the BMC Decision Support for Server Automation Console to set passwords in BMC Decision Support for Server Automation to match the following database passwords:

  • Reports data warehouse
  • Extract, transform, and load (ETL) master and work repository databases
  • Portal database 
  • BMC Server Automation sites

To set database passwords

  1. Launch the BMC Decision Support for Server Automation Console, as described in Accessing-the-console.
  2. Click Configuration > Database Details.
  3. In the Database Details section, click the Configure Password link.

  4. On the Configure Password page, select the check box next to the database for which you want to change the password.

    Note

    Using any of these special characters will cause the Cognos configuration to fail, requiring you to reconfigure the database schema. 

  5. Enter and confirm the new password. 
  6. Click Update. 
    The Last Task Details page confirms whether the passwords were changed successfully.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
