Web browser requirements


This topic lists the web browsers and the required settings that you can use to access BMC Decision Support for Server Automation. The supported browser and operating system combinations vary for product components.

 

Supported web browser and operating systems combinations

 The following table lists the supported web browser and operating system combinations for use with the IBM Cognos connection, Report Viewer, Query Studio, and Report Studio components, and the BMC Decision Support for Server Automation Console:

Note that, Google Chrome is NOT a supported browser.

Notes

  • Report Studio is not supported on Mozilla.
  • Microsoft Office integration is only supported on Windows platforms (for example, the Export to Excel feature is supported only on Windows platforms).

Web browser settings to access the console

To access the BMC Decision Support for Server Automation Console in various browsers, you must change the browser settings, as follows:

  • To view the BMC Decision Support for Server Automation Console with Microsoft Internet Explorer, you must enable the latest versions of TLS and SSL.
  1. Click Tools > Internet Options.
  2. On the Advanced tab, navigate to the Security settings.
  3. Select the Use TLS <latestVersion> and Use SSL <latestVersion> check boxes.
  • Ensure that JavaScript is enabled for your web browser, as follows.

    To enable JavaScript on Microsoft Internet Explorer
    1. Click Tools > Internet Options
    2. On the Security tab, click the Custom level button. 
    3. Navigate to Scripting > Active scripting, and select the Enable option.
    To enable JavaScript on Mozilla
    1. Click Tools > Internet Options.
    2. On the Content tab, select the Enable JavaScript check box. 
  • (Applicable only for version 8.5.00) If you want to view the BMC Decision Support for Server Automation Console with Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 and 10 and if the browser is set to display sites in compatibility view, you must change the browser settings.
  1. Click Tools > Compatibility View settings.
  2. Clear the Display intranet sites in Compatibility View check box.

Note

The BMC Decision Support for Server Automation portal does not work with this compatibility view setting. You must use any other supported browser to access the portal.
