Managing single sign-on
This topic describes the command for generating and modifying single sign-on user credentials.
Use the gencred command to generate and modify encrypted single sign-on user credentials.
When you generate credentials, they are stored in the bmcsareports_user.dat file in the following location:
- (Microsoft Windows) userHomeDirectory\BMCSAReports
- (UNIX) userHomeDirectory/.bmcsareports
These credentials are used to authenticate you every time you execute a
command. Alternatively, you can bypass the credentials in the file by providing the credentials as command parameters when executing a command.A user who is granted credentials must be a
system administrator or must have appropriate permissions to execute the commands. For command syntax, see the help by using the following command: gencred -h
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
