Understanding data transfer scenarios
This topic provides an overview of the data transfer scenarios.
uses ETL to transfer data from the database to the reports data warehouse.Data transfers are defined using scenarios that you can schedule to run at specified times or you can run on demand.
also includes , a GUI tool for viewing scenarios, scenario run status, and related information. For details about specifying the transfer of data from the
database to the reports data warehouse, see Running-ETL. includes a default set of scenarios. Most scenarios correspond to the data groups in the report data and transfer data for those data groups. Other scenarios, called parent scenarios transfer data that is essential for successfully running the report data group scenarios (or child scenarios). The parent scenarios must run before their child scenarios. The scenario execution script executes scenarios in the correct sequence. also includes a default set of property files that correspond to each report data group. A property file contains the scenario for the relevant report data group and the parent scenarios that must run before the child scenario. Property files allow you to use the scenario execution script to transfer data from a specific data group instead of all report data groups. The following topics provide more information about scenarios, property files, and execution dependencies:
