Maintaining the temp directory

This topic describes routine maintenance for the temp directory to ensure that there is sufficient space to run your reports.

When you run reports, temporary files are created in the BDSSAInstallationDirectory/portal/temp directory. When running large, complex reports, the space required for the temporary files increases.

After reports are run, temporarily files are left in the temp directory and are no longer needed. The files have .tmp or .dmc extensions. You can remove these files to preserve the temp directory size.

To ensure that you have enough space to run reports, clean up the temp directory on a monthly basis.
