Notifications cannot be sent through SMTP
After you upgrade from version 8.1, the value of the defualtSender option of the SMTP configuration is set to its default value (notifications@cognos.com) instead of the value before the upgrade. Therefore, BMC BladeLogic Decision Support for Server Automation cannot send notifications through SMTP relay.
Workaround:
- Navigate to the BDSSAInstallationDirectory/portal/configuration directory and open the cogstartup.xml file.
- Locate the notifications@cognos.com string and replace it with the email address from which you want the notifications to be sent.
- Save the file.
- Restart the Cognos services on the reports server computer.
