SQL Server database support
This topics lists the supported versions of Microsoft SQL Server database and BMC recommendations for using the SQL Server database.
Supported databases
The following SQL Server databases are supported for use with
:- SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition
- SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition
- SQL Server 2008 Standard Edition
- SQL Server 2008 Enterprise Edition
- SQL Server 2008 R2 Enterprise Edition
BMC recommendations
recommends that you use the Enterprise Edition of SQL Server databases. While the product is designed to work with the Standard Edition of these databases, the Enterprise Edition offers the following benefits for data warehousing projects:- Better performance when handling large data volumes
- Use of partitioning for time-based data archival
Best practice recommendations for data warehousing also include the use of capabilities that are available in Enterprise Editions.
