Key concepts
The BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management Dashboards consists of two dashboards that support your installed BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management application:
Health Dashboard
The Health Dashboard provides information about the performance of BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management components, enabling you to monitor the health of BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management.
The following image shows the graphs available in the Health Dashboard:
Value Dashboard
The Value Dashboard provides information about servers and tenants offered in BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management, enabling you to monitor the performance of the servers you provision with BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management, as well as how many users and tenants are using servers. This information enables you to determine where your BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management environment is delivering the greatest value.
The following image shows the server graphs available in the Value Dashboard:
- Peak Servers by Month—The maximum number of servers at any point in each month. The count is determined by calculating the Peak Active Servers in the system per month, and the Peak Active Servers in the system per month and per tenant (which might be different than the number for total servers). By default, this chart shows the total for all tenants, but you can view individual tenant data by clicking the tenant name below the chart.
The servers count is determined initially from the LCCount from January 2013 to the date the Value Dashboard was installed. It is based on the raw data in the system, and is not extrapolated. If your LCCount data is corrupt (for example, from a DSO issue), you might see a discrepancy in the servers count before the Value Dashboard installation date. Per-tenant data is not available immediately after installation.
After installation, the servers count is based on the computer containers in BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management, which is retrieved from the CMF:VG_Dep_CC_Com_OS_SOI form in BMC Remedy AR System. The Value Dashboard retrieves the latest count from this form, and verifies that the servers and corresponding service offering instances are active (and not marked for deletion). If there is an overlap between the refreshed data and the historical data, the refreshed data is displayed in the chart.
- Provisioned Servers by Month—The total number of servers provisioned each month. This helps you anticipate required server capacity. By default, this chart shows the total for all tenants, but you can view individual tenant data by clicking the tenant name below the chart. Data for this chart is retrieved from the CMF:VG_Dep_CC_Com_OS_SOI form in BMC Remedy AR System.
- Decommissioned Servers by Month—The total number of servers decommissioned each month. By default, this chart shows the total for all tenants, but you can view individual tenant data by clicking the tenant name below the chart. Data for this chart is retrieved from the CMF:VG_Dep_CC_Com_OS_SOI form in BMC Remedy AR System.
- Current Server Count by Tenant—The distribution of current active servers owned by each tenant in BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management. Tenants that currently own zero servers are not shown. Data for this chart is retrieved from the CMF:VG_Dep_CC_Com_OS_SOI form in BMC Remedy AR System.
The following image shows the tenant and user graphs available in the Value Dashboard:
- Total Number of Tenants by Month—The number of tenants with access to BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management each month. By default the chart displays data for the most recent six months. Maximizing the chart allows you to view data the most recent year. Data for this chart is retrieved from the CMF:OrganizationDepTag_Sensor_Dep_SensorAttr_Dep_Threshold_Com_VTS form in BMC Remedy AR System. The count of offboarded tenants is subtracted from the count of onboarded tenants to determine the cont displayed in the chart.
Total Number of Users by Month—The number of users with permission to log into BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management each month. By default the chart displays data for the most recent six months. Maximizing the chart allows you to view data the most recent year. Data for this chart is retrieved from the CMF:Person_Org_Sensor_Dep_SensorAttr_Dep_Threshold_Com_VTS form in BMC Remedy AR System. The count of deleted users is subtracted from the count of cloud administrators, tenant administrators, and cloud end users to determine the count displayed in the chart.
