Running the SQL update scripts

After upgrading the Application Server, perform the following steps on any computer from which you have access to the database server using the SQL*Plus (in the case of Oracle) or sqlcmd (in the case of Microsoft SQL Server) utility.

Note

The system on which you are running the script must have SQL Tools installed.

To run the SQL update script for the Oracle BLADELOGIC database type

  1. Navigate to the scripts directory (temporaryDirectory/Remediation/oracle).
  2. Log on to SQL*Plus as the BLADELOGIC user (or the name you choose for this user during BladeLogic schema creation).
  3. Run the script, as follows:

    SQL>start install_hotfix_update_oracle_script.sql

To run the SQL update script for the Microsoft SQL Server BLADELOGIC database type

  1. Navigate to the directory that contains the upgrade scripts (temporaryDirectory/Remediation/sqlserver).
  2. Execute the install_hotfix_update_sqlserver_script.bat file with the following input parameters:
    install_hotfix_update_sqlserver_script.bat <BLADELOGIC_DBServerName> <BLADELOGIC_DBName> <BLADELOGIC_Username> <BLADELOGIC_Password> install_hotfix_update_sqlserver_script.bat testserver test_db BLuser BMC123
