Creating, modifying, and managing operations

Most of the actions you perform in the portal involve operations, which are simplified versions of the jobs you can perform in BMC Server Automation.

A wizard steps you through the process of creating an operation. The wizard is largely the same for all types of operations with minor exceptions for each type. Provisioning operations have more substantial differences, so they are described separately.

The following table describes the actions you can perform related to operations. For some actions, extensive examples are also available.

Create or modify the following types of operations:

Batch

Deploy
Script

Create or modify a Patch Analysis operation

Create a Provisioning operation

Create a Remediation operation

Note: For both Threat Director and Vulnerability Manager, you can create a remdiation operation to address vulnerablities.

Manage operations by performing actions such as executing, deleting, and viewing logs.

View the results of operations and, for many types of operations, take actions based on those results.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
