This topic contains information about updates in service pack 1 (product version 2.2.01.000) and provides instructions for downloading and installing the patch. The topic includes the following sections:
Contents of the patch
This patch consists of the following improvements:
Automatic imports of scan data
Threat Director now lets you set up a scanner connection so you can import vulnerability scans automatically, without any need for exporting the scans from vendor tools or manually importing the scans into BladeLogic Portal. You can schedule how often scan results are imported. You can select particular scans to import, and you can also establish filters that limit the scan data that is actually imported from all scan results being imported.
Currently, scanner connections are only possible with the Tenable Security Center. Tenable is the creator of the Nessus Vulnerability Scanner.
For more information, see Setting-up-a-scanner-connection. For a description of how to import scan results automatically and an accompanying video, see Walkthrough-for-Threat-Director-Automatically-importing-vulnerability-scan-data.

New installer and upgrade option
To accommodate automatic scan imports, the installation and upgrade wizards now include an option that lets you specify a required ID. The new option is available for both BMC Server Automation and BMC Network Automation. The new option is highlighted below.

New prerequisite for upgrades
Before you can perform an upgrade, you must manually edit a setting for Unicode support in an XML file. For more information, see Upgrading.
Corrected defects
See Known-and-corrected-issues for a list of defects fixed in this version.

Installing the patch as a fresh product installation
After downloading the patch installation file using the procedure described above, perform a fresh installation by following the instructions in Installing.
Upgrading to the patch
After downloading the patch installation file using the procedure described above, the steps needed to upgrade depend on your current version and the configuration of your current deployment. The following table lists the possible paths. Note that the primary difference between a compact deployment and a small, medium, or large deployment is that a compact deployment installs the BladeLogic Portal server and the DCA Index Server on the same machine, while all other configurations install a DCA Index Server on a separate machine.
Installation of a stand-alone DCA Index Server was introduced in version 2.2. No upgrade procedure exists for versions of the stand-alone DCA Index Server earlier than 2.2.
No upgrade is provided for BladeLogic Portal versions older than 2.1.00.
