Setting up a connection to BMC Atrium Orchestrator
Use this procedure to set up a connection to BMC Atrium Orchestrator. This connection is required if BMC Server Automation is integrated with BMC Remedy ITSM Change Management to track changes to your data center infrastructure. When a connection to BMC Atrium Orchestrator is established in BladeLogic Portal, change management becomes available in the portal.
When you integrate BladeLogic Portal with BMC Remedy ITSM Change Management, you can automate the change tracking process. When a portal operator submits an operation that requires tracking and approval, a change request is automatically created in BMC Remedy ITSM. After the change is approved in BMC Remedy ITSM, the operation is scheduled for execution. Remedy approvals can be setup to be manual or automatic. In both cases a change request is generated in Remedy service desk so configuration changes can be properly tracked. A Portal operation will have a status of “Awaiting Approval” until the change request is accepted.
