Advanced Search

Use the Advanced Search dialog box to find targets based on one or more conditions you define. You can search for targets that satisfy all conditions, or you can search for any server that satisfies any condition.

Take the following steps to use the advanced search capability:

  1. In the first row of the dialog box, enter values for Find all and where.
For example, for Find All, select Servers. For where select all. With those selections, the first row reads, Find all Servers where all of the below conditions holds true.
  2. In the first row of conditions, use the box at left to select a property, the middle box to select a qualifying action, and the box at right to select a value.
For example, you could set the following conditions to search for all servers running the Windows operating system.

  3. To add additional conditions, click the Add icon AddConditionIcon.gifat right. Then, provide details for the condition as described in the previous step.
For example, you can set another condition as shown below to limit search results to servers running the Windows operating system within a particular range of IP addresses.

If you have specified that all conditions must be satisfied, the search finds all targets that match all conditions. If you have specified that any condition must be satisfied, the search finds all targets that meet any condition.

To remove a condition, click the Remove icon RemoveIcon.gifat right.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
